Light Out of Darkness - German Music in Memoriam

Circa 1600 along with Carol Menke, soprano, Christopher Fritzsche, countertenor, Brian Staufenbiel, tenor, Hugh Davies, baritone are joined by the young voices of the Santa Rosa Children’s Chorus and the period instruments of LOBO to perform exquisite German Baroque music in memoriam, including works by Michael Praetorius, Heinrich Schütz and JS Bach. This incredibly optimistic and uplifting music is offered as a complement to the following week’s Brahms Requiem; Brahms was an early-music aficionado, and used many of the same texts and musical gestures as his predecessors.
