voice of countertenor Christopher Fritzsche. Experience the passionate,
sublime, and rarely heard string chamber music of 17th-century Germany with concerti for voice and violas, heart wrenching laments, sonatas and
cantatas. Music of Johann Christoph Bach, Biber, Scheidt, Schmelzer, Tunder and Weekmann, plus J.S. Bach's beloved and 17th-century-inspired Brandenburg Concerto No. 6.

Each concert is preceded by a half-hour Bach Grounder lecture-demonstration beginning 45 minutes before the performance, focusing on the music and its background, upon the instruments to be used in the concert, and upon aspects of interpretation and performance practice.
