On Wednesday, March 30, 2011, from 7 to 8:30 pm I am leading a night of devotional chant with Sahar Pinkham, Steven Anderson, Paul Sarran, Andy Graham, JoAnn Newton, Claire Victor, Rosa Hale, Karen Naumann, Emily Hamilton, Connie Bertlshofer, Rupali Robinson, and Carol Shields.
We're performing Sanctuary, original compositions, and well loved chants by Deva Premal and more. We invite you to really sink into an evening of devotional call and response chanting, or just sit there and let the music wash over you. Words to the chants and songs will be provided for those who wish to sing along and after the service, tea will be served. Songs will be both in English and Sanskrit supported by guitar, bass, tabla, keyboards, drums and voices in three part harmony.
This fifth Wednesday Evening service is different from our regular offering in that there is no formal message. Think of it as an evening of praise in which east meets west in a kirtan style service.
